Heidelberg, 27.6.2019. The jury awarded the ‚Headstart Award‘ and a prize money of € 50,000 to selected healthcare start-ups from the DACH region yesterday at this year’s EIT Health SHIP – Ship for Health Innovation Pitches in Heidelberg.
Around 30 healthcare start-ups presented their innovations in health care to a selected expert jury in front of more than 100 guests on board the ‚Queen Silvia‘ during a leisurely boat trip on the Neckar River in hot temperatures (Simon Beuerle – AOK Baden-Württemberg, Dr. Nana Bit-Avragim – Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane, Dr. Birgit Kerber – European Molecular Biology Laboratory, EMBL, Prof. Dr. Freimut Schliess – Profil GmbH, Maria Sievert – Founder and Managing Director inveox, Jürgen Simon – Siemens Healthineers Technology Accelerator, Rajnesh Airey – Convergence Partners AG). The start-ups each had three minutes to convince the jury of their idea. In addition to the innovative strength of the business idea, the consistently crisp presentations focused on user-friendliness and a monetization strategy in the sense of rapid market realization.
